We believe that it is more important than ever in the current crisis, to still come together in spirit to remember the courage, service and sacrifice of those who fought for our freedom in World War II.
‘It is such a shame we will be in lockdown as we were looking forward to joining our clients in the town celebrations and planned street parties. We wanted however to share what we are doing to express our own firm’s statement of celebration and recognition for all associated with VE day.’ says partner and private client lawyer Dee Benians.
So, we have proudly put the bunting out at our new office on Heathfield High Street in preparation for a virtual day of celebration and invite you to join us in spirit to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day.
There are lots of ways you can still mark the occasion from putting up some decorations, hosting an online street party, having a go at the Lindi hop or just making sure you have a good old-fashioned knees-up.
Our team will also be joining in some of the lovely national events planned for Friday from our own homes including:
- the two-minute silence at 11am;
- The Our Nation’s Toast at 3pm – “To those who gave so much, we thank you”; and
- the UK singalong of ‘We’ll Meet Again’ wth Dame Vera Lynn at 9pm.
We would love to hear how you are celebrating – please share your photos and videos with us on Facebook and Twitter.
